Honestly I felt as though the ending could have been much better. I was hoping that Ashi would survive and live happily with Jack... but gendy had other ideas. Idk if it was due to time constraints or something else entirely. Overall it was a hollow victory imo at least.

I am glad that samurai jack had a proper ending. I feel kind of bitter sweet about it, so I can not jump for joy about the ending, but the ending makes sense. It has always been the goal for jack to get to the past so all of us should have seen it coming about the future and what would happen to Asshi. I am not 100% how I would have expected on how it would end, I have seen some people say they wanted him to stay in the future, but then jack would not age and he wouldn't have been able to undo all the horrible things Aku did like with the stone viking guy. I would have liked a last goodbye from the supporting characters with jack and the scotsman about going back home and talking about how going back would erase all of his future friends, but knowing that it was something that had to be done. The way they just went to the past was kind of quick. I would have also liked a big final battle with Jack and Aku at the end but i know that he was already weakened so Aku could not do anything. Also with Asshi I did not really like how some of the fans kind of hate on jack and asshi being together saying it is forced but pushing them to be father and daughter wasn't?I can understand if it was overwhelming because it kind of happened in one episode, but there were hints about it where both sides felt like either one could have happened. I would not have minded either option or just be neutral friends, but some people are saying she sucks just because she and jack fell in love is harsh or just saying she was a one sided character because of that feels almost insulting to Asshi herself. Over all with the ending It probably was not the ending everyone would be super happy about but it was the ending that was the most likely to happen.
