It was announced earlier today in the PR section of Turner's website that. that Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans will be Premiering on Toonami. It has been over a decade since Toonami last saw a Gundam Series on the block. Jason DeMarco has also confirmed it on his twitter

The schedules for May 21st and May 28th were announced yesterday (05/09/16) on the Toonami Facebook With Dimension W coming to an end on May 14th we will get an hour of DBZKai on May 21st from 12am-1am. Then with May 28th being Memorial Day Weekend we will be getting a Marathon as usual this time the Marathon will be Samurai Champloo, as of right now we don't know what episodes will be playing but once we do we will update you. So with that said this means the new show won't be premiering until June 4th, so why isn't Toonami premiering the new show on may 21st? Well as stated above there will be a Marathon on May 28th Memorial Day Weekend just like in previous years so it makes no sense for Toonami to premiere a new show for one episode then wait two weeks for the next episode hence why the wait to June 4th. Also according to Jason DeMarco's ask.fm there are other reasons as to why the show reveal is taking so long and once they are allowed to say they will let us know. What do you think the new show is going to be? Let us know by replying below.

“I’m not going to let you hurt [Guren]. Get out of here. She’s given me a home, a place where I belong.”
- Yukimaru, Naruto Shippuden (Ep. 106) The Toonami Trending Rundown for April 2-3, 2016. A good night for Toonami’s social media buzz as Toonami and every show had trended in the US in addition to #DBZKai trending during its encore presentation. In addition, Parasyte produced a character trend in Migi once again as he was resurrected and he and Shinichi managed to defeat Gotou. Great news, everyone. We now know what the replacement for Parasyte will be. It has just been announced on Toonami Pre Flight back on Friday that Hunter x Hunter is finally coming to Toonami. Yes, you heard that right, no April Fools here. After many years of waiting for the 2011 version to come to US shores, Hunter x Hunter fans can finally rejoice as not only Viz Media is bringing it to US shores, the dub premiere will indeed air on Toonami starting on April 16th at 1 am Eastern. In addition, on the same week Hunter x Hunter premieres, Parasyte will have an encore rerun at 3am Eastern as the replacement for Kill la Kill’s encore run. Unfortunately this also means that Sentai will be taking a break from premiering shows on Toonami for now, while Aniplex will be completely off the better cartoon show for the first time since 2013. Very unfortunate, but I’m pretty sure they’ll both be back in due time once they have the right shows for the block. Little note that tomorrow (April 4th) at 6pm Eastern, the long awaited Powerpuff Girls reboot will be premiering on regular Cartoon Network. The original series was a big favorite and brought many fond memories to old school Cartoon Network and Toonami viewers (myself included) back in the day, and here’s hoping the new one will be just as good for new and old fans alike. Tune in next week as Parasyte showcases the series finale, among other great moments. Until next week, enjoy the baseball season and stay gold. Legend: The shows listed are ordered based on their appearance on the schedule. Show trends are listed in bold. The number next to the listed trend represents the highest it trended on the list (not counting the promoted trend), judging only by the images placed in the rundown. “Goodbye, Shinichi. This is our farewell. I am pleased that i didn’t take over your brain when we first met. Because of that, you and I were actually able to create many fond memories together…as friends.“
- Migi, Parasyte (Ep. 22) The Toonami Trending Rundown for March 26-27, 2016. A pretty good night for trending as Toonami and every show had successfully trended in the East Coast in addition to #DBZKai also trending during it’s encore presentation. Parasyte also produced a character trend in Migi as he devised a plan with Shinichi to defeat Gotou, only for it to fail and Migi being forced to sacrifice himself so Shinichi can escape. Want something more other than just Samurai Jack? We’ll if you haven’t heard the exciting news from Thursday, it has been announced that FLCL is indeed getting a second and even third season. Yes, you heard that right, in the words of TOM 3.5, FLCL’s back, bitches. A total of 12 episodes, split over 2 seasons will be produced with season 2 premiering sometime in late 2017/early 2018. Toonami will be producing the series along with Production IG, and of course the original creators will be back, including series creator Kazuya Tsurumaki and character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. Katsuyuki Motohiro, known for directing the Psycho Pass film, will serve as the director. It’s still unknown whether The Pillows will be back or if the original cast will be reprising their roles (Kari Wahlgren, the voice of Haruko hasn’t received any word as of yet), though Jason has said that the plan is to have them all back. With original productions like FLCL and Samurai Jack on the horizon, among other things, it’s definitely a great time to be a fan of Toonami and anime as a whole. What else are we going to see for the better cartoon show in the weeks, months and years ahead? Anything really is possible at this point. Tune in next week as Parasyte showcases its penultimate episode among other great moments. Until next week, have a Happy Easter Sunday and stay gold. Legend: The shows listed are ordered based on their appearance on the schedule. Show trends are listed in bold. ADULT SWIM HAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT FLCL WILL BE GETTING TWO MORE SEASONS IN LATE 2017/EARLY 2018! Here is what the Press Release that we obtain from Turner says: "Thursday, March 24, 2016
Popular Anime Series To Premiere on Network’s Toonami Block
Cue Anime Fans Worldwide Going Insane
Adult Swim, a division of Turner, is proud to announce an official sequel to one of the most beloved anime series of all time - FLCL (pronounced Fooly Cooly). Created in 2000, FLCL told the tale of Naota, a 12-year-old boy who met a woman that would forever change his life…whether he liked it or not. 16 years later, Adult Swim and legendary animation studio, Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell), are creating two new six-episode seasons to continue the tale, which will premiere in Adult Swim’s Toonami block. Known for its surprising and unique content with high fan engagement, Adult Swim has been basic cable’s #1 Network in the U.S. with 18-24 and 18-34 year olds for eleven consecutive years. The new season of FLCL adds to Adult Swim’s ever expanding portfolio of original programming.
“The original FLCL is an anime classic and has been a fixture on Adult Swim since we first laid eyes on it,” said Jason DeMarco, senior vice president/creative director, Adult Swim On-Air. “I’m beyond thrilled to be able to produce a sequel with the original creators, for Toonami, where it belongs.”
Back for the new season is FLCL series creator Kazuya Tsurumaki, serving as supervisor with director Katsuyuki Motohiro (Psycho-Pass) and character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Neon Genesis Evangelion). Also joining this season is writer Hideto Iwai (Last Dinner).
Established in 1987, Production I.G has since produced a number of acclaimed feature films and TV shows, and has also partnered with Mamoru Oshii on every one of his animated films since Patlabor: The Movie (1989), thereby earning an international admiration which eventually led to the visionary collaboration with Quentin Tarantino for the animation sequence in his hit, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003). They are most known for the Ghost in the Shell franchise, and for the acclaimed animated TV series Psycho-pass and Attack on Titan.
“FLCL has become an anime classic over the years, yet it has remained vibrant,” said Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, co-founder, president and CEO of Production I.G. “This new season will capture the hearts of both longtime FLCL fans from around the world and new anime viewers.”
In the new season of FLCL, many years have passed since Naota and Haruhara Haruko shared their adventure together. Meanwhile, the war between the two entities known as Medical Mechanica and Fraternity rages across the galaxy. Enter Hidomi, a young teenaged girl who believes there is nothing amazing to expect from her average life, until one day when a new teacher named Haruko arrives at her school. Soon enough, Medical Mechanica is attacking her town and Hidomi discovers a secret within her that could save everyone, a secret that only Haruko can unlock.
But why did Haruko return to Earth? What happened to her Rickenbacker 4001 she left with Naota? And where did the human-type robot ‘Canti’ go?
All of these questions and more will be answered in the new season of the series, which is set to premiere in late 2017/early 2018 on Adult Swim.

“Shinichi, you’re actually a pretty good guy, aren’t you? The two of us have gone through a lot together, haven’t we? So even if something bad happens, we’ll be okay. We can make it.”
- Satomi Murano, Parasyte (Ep. 21) The Toonami Trending Rundown for March 19-20, 2016. We celebrate the 19th anniversary of the better cartoon show as as every show on the block trended during their respective East Coast airings in addition to #DBZKai during it’s encore presentation. In addition, each show on the block produced at least one character trend, the first time ever we have seen this occur. DBZ Kai gave us Piccolo as he ultimately demolishes Android 19. Dimension W had Mira trend for the third week in a row as after a bath, she gets attacked and captured by Shijuro and the ghosts of the students killed years ago. Parasyte gave us Shinichi as he’s scarred contemplating on whether to fight Gozu or flee, before deciding to fight when being comforted and “making love” with Murano. Champloo had Fuu trending as while she was in the bath, Mugen and Jin both had a look at her diary. Shippuden gave us Guren as it was revealed that she was responsible for the death of Yukimaru’s mother. One Piece had Brook trend as he reveals that he was killed but was revived eating the Revive Revive fruit and also mentions that he had his shadow stolen, rendering him unable to live in direct sunlight. And Kill la Kill gave us both Mako and Senketsu as they both help free Ryuko from being “tied” to Junketsu. You could say this was one of those coincidental “fan service themed” nights. We’ve had moments like this before and considering that fan service in anime can be pretty frequent at times, for better or for worse it probably won’t be the last. That being said, considering the standards and practices Toonami follows to not shoo away advertisers and the fact that Toonami is an action cartoon block and a “gateway drug” to anime and not an “otaku pandering” block, don’t expect Toonami to go out of their way to get themselves shows with heavy fan service…unless you want to see a lot of censoring. Tune in next week as Samurai Champloo begins it’s 2nd half, while Parasyte comes down to it’s final 3 episodes, among other great moments. Will Shinichi live or will he just be another one of Gotou’s victims? Until next week, have a good March Madness, and stay gold. Legend: The shows listed are ordered based on their appearance on the schedule. Show trends are listed in bold. The number next to the listed trend represents the highest it trended on the list (not counting the promoted trend), judging only by the images placed in the rundown. Kyouma: “Stop thinking you’re a human. You’re just a walking, talking heap of metal.” Mira: “Just a heap of metal? You’re not very nice, jerk!”
- Dimension W (Ep. 03) The Toonami Trending Rundown for March 12-13, 2016. We kick off One Piece’s Thriller Bark arc as Toonami and every show had successfully trended in the US during their respective East Coast airings. In addition, during Shippuden, Toonami showcased a music video, Squad Out!, by Skrillex & JAUZ featuring Fatman Scoop, and that also trended in the US. We also received a character trend each from DBZ, Dimension W, and Samurai Champloo. DBZ Kai brought us Vegeta as he saves Goku from Android 19 sucking his energy away, unveils his Super Saiyan powers and uses it to defeat 19. Dimension W gave us Mira as Kyouma gives her a trailer to live in, in addition to saving a group of kids (one of which was the granddaughter of the New Tesla COO) from getting crushed by cars when playing around Kyouma’s junkyard. And Samurai Champloo gave us Jin (the first of such for Champloo) as he saves Shino from being forced into sex slavery. In Sword Art Online news, it has just been announced that the upcoming film, titled “Ordinal Scale” will be debuting in Japanese theaters sometime next year. As previously mentioned, the story will take place shortly after the Mother’s Rosario story arc. We don’t have any info yet on when the dub will be made or if a showcase in US theaters is in the works, though we might know more regarding that in Sakura Con on the 26th. In regards to trending, the hashtag #SAOMovieOrdinalScale trended as a result of the news during One Piece and Kill la Kill. Not much else to say other than until next week, have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day and stay gold. Legend: The shows listed are ordered based on their appearance on the schedule. Show trends are listed in bold. The number next to the listed trend represents the highest it trended on the list (not counting the promoted trend), judging only by the images placed in the rundown.
